who are we?

Cross Parallel is a college ministry for young adults, ages 18-35, chasing after the heart of God, working together to live like Jesus.

WHY CROSS PARALLEL?

The meaning of Cross Parallel has much depth.

Cross: We want to provide people with an opportunity to cross paths with God.  Every one of us were on a path, led by our own intuition, thoughts, and desires, searching for satisfaction.  By God's great design and mercy, He stepped into our lives, crossing paths with us.  At this cross roads, we encountered the love and friendship of God, through what Jesus did on the Cross.  That encounter has forever changed who we are and the way we live.  It is our goal to give everyone that same opportunity, by sharing the love and message of Jesus with everyone we know- at work, school, and within our community.

Cross: We also want to provide a place of worship for those who have already encountered the love of God.  Our goal is to come together corporately once a week, and meet with God through worship, reading the Bible, and through prayer.

Cross: The last goal we have is to give young adults a place to cross paths with other young adults who love Jesus.  Relationships are at the core of God's heart and He hardwired us just like Himself.  We long for relationship with other people. This is a great place to connect with other believers and live life together in community.

Parallel: Parallel has only one meaning, but it is at the center of who we are and what we do.  Our primary goal at Cross Parallel is to walk in step, parallel, with Jesus Christ.  His message of love, integrity, and truth has turned the world upside down.  We long to live just like He did, and to walk in step with Him in every decision we make. To walk in the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:10-13).

CAN ANYONE COME?

We try to to stick to the age parameters, ages 18-35.  This is a critical time in life where many decisions are made: career path, college degree, spouse, children, etc.  Having friends and building relationships with others going through the same things is critical.  We are just a branch off of the main body of Pueblo Christian Center, which has ministries for every age and interest.  For more information on our church, please visit: http://pueblochristiancenter.com/

Hello!  I am Tony Amaya and this is my wife April!  We would love to get to know you and have you join our family at Cross Parallel!  We have been involved with this ministry since its inception in 2010.  I became the Lead Pastor in 2012, April has led worship since 2011, and we were happily married in 2015.  I graduated from Colorado State University Pueblo in 2013 with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and a Minor in Coaching.  April graduated from CSU-Pueblo in 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and is currently the Choir and Music Director at Pueblo Central High School.  I spent one year at Refuge School of Ministry, traveling the U.S. with Jayme Montera, former National Youth Evangelist of the Assemblies of God and after that year, I became the Associate Youth Pastor at Pueblo Christian Center.  I am currently continuing my Bible education through Global University: Berean School of the Bible.  During my final year of college, I studied abroad in Lisbon, Portugal, working with Europe Teen Challenge; this experience changed my life and greatly impacted the way we do ministry.  We want Cross Parallel to be a place where all young adults of Pueblo can come to meet Jesus, and after encountering His amazing love, join His mission to love the harassed, needy, and helpless of our city, nation, and world. I love playing sports, coaching football and track, and we both love hanging out with friends…preferably game nights or doing something outdoors!

We’d love for you to join our ‘CP Family’ and be a part of
what God is doing in Pueblo!
